Liability per kilo - International & National

"If it is determined that the damage to the cargo occurred between the time of receipt and delivery by the carrier, the carrier can be held responsible for compensating this damage. The carrier is responsible for ensuring that the goods are handled properly throughout the transportation process. However, there are exceptions and limitations to this liability. The carrier's liability is limited to a maximum amount per kilo, except in cases of intent or conscious recklessness. In such cases, the carrier's liability is unlimited, but proving intent or conscious recklessness in the Netherlands can be difficult."

According to international regulations, a road carrier is liable for 8.33 SDR (Special Drawing Rights) per kilo. In euros, 8.33 SDR is approximately 10.35 euros.

Please note that this limit is much lower for national transportation, specifically at 3.40 euros per kilo.

With the standard insurance, you will not be reimbursed for the transportation costs of the missing box(es) if the shipment is lost in the Netherlands, meaning if the entire shipment has already been cleared in the Netherlands after transportation from China. This is because we have also incurred these costs for the shipment's transportation from China to the Netherlands in this case.
